Tourism/Historical Sites

Medicine Lodge citizens have kept history alive by commemorating the Treaty of 1867 for a century. Events include the Peace Treaty Pageant, Intertribal Powwows, Rodeos and more at Memorial Peace Park. Hiking trails and park facilities are open year round.
Stockade Museum & Carry Nation Home
The Stockade Museum is a replica of the 1874 stockade that stood at the center of Medicine Lodge. Next door, Carry Nation’s home is a National Historical Landmark that preserves her notable influence in the suffragist movement of the nation.
Two branches of the Kiowa Historical Museum tell the rich history of Kiowa and Barber County.
Wisner Fountain and Peace Treaty Statue
The historical markers sit at the corner of First Ave. and Main Street in Medicine Lodge.
